Bad things are going to happen, challenges are going to come your way and unexpected obstacles are going to come at you out of nowhere!   How to see them as GROWTH instead of SETBACK.

you are not the victim

“Bad” things are going to happen, challenges are going to come your way and unexpected obstacles are going to come at you out of nowhere!   You have the ability to make a HUGE difference in your own life.  How?   Ultimately, it is up to you to see these road blocks as a way to GROW.  Often, these difficulties are seen as something  BLOCKING your way. This change in perspective is how you take control of your life. Of course, this does not mean that you must enjoy difficult situations!   It doesn’t even mean you need to find the good in everything!  It is a matter of having perspective and agency over your life.  Read on to learn more.

TAKE Control of your life

My path to becoming a  Thrive Coach is a perfect example to share.  My husband and I work for the same school and in Spring 2021 our state legislature created a bill that would shut our school down. Once this bill passed, we would lose 100% of our income. Major road block, right?

I could have been immobilized by STRESS, FEAR, ANXIETY and HOPELESSNESS.   Instead of making a bad situation even worse,  I sat down and thought about what options I had.  Education, especially in charter schools, has become quite turbulent in California.   It made sense to branch out in a field outside of education.

At this time I was going through The Thrive Programme for our daughter’s anxiety.  The more I learned about TTP, the more it aligned with my values and core beliefs.  Before I finished the program, I had signed up to be a coach myself! Six months later, I was officially a Licensed Thrive coach. Our school never was shut down, but how wonderful that I spent those 6 months broadening my knowledge and developing my skills to help others.
